Good morning from Portland. As you probably know, there is much about Steve Jobs in the media today due to his passing away yesterday. You may also know that Steve Jobs was born into dysfunction and eventually adopted. He had interesting swerves throughout his youth. His struggles yielded incredible success–and journalists are regarding Steve Jobs’ contributions (leading Apple and Pixar and then Apple again) among the likes of Walt Disney, Henry Ford, Charles Drew, Jonas Salk, etc.
Reportedly, a quote from Steve Jobs was seen on Julian Lennon’s Facebook page. (Julian is the son of John Lennon.) I thought it was interesting and pertinent to kids across the country.
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits, The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do…”
Do you have any budding future Steve Jobs-types in your charge?
Have a great day.
