School Choice Matters
As tribute to National School Choice Week Dr. Matthew Ladner, from the Foundation for Excellence in Education, answers question about school choice. Ladner gives a simple and straightforward definition for school choice as; “Parental choice programs give parents the ability to choose the education that best fits the individual needs of their child.”
School choice allows for parents and kids to locate which school is best suited to their needs. In education one size does not fit all. Public funding for all K-12 education in the United States is guaranteed by the each states constitution. Having the ability to create differentiated schools with innovative programs keeps schools current with the needs of the kids they serve in a world rapidly becoming more interconnected.
