New Population Trends and School Choice
It’s projected that by 2030 populations dependent of the most expensive tax funded services will significantly increase. In the United States we have a growing population of senior citizens and children. Both of these groups rely on tax funded services like education and healthcare. We have the highest number of students since the the baby boomers were kids.
With this in mind its important to note that kids in classrooms right now will be responsible for creating the policies for healthcare and education in 2030 and beyond. If 64%of public school 8th graders cannot read at full proficiency today, will they be ready to financially support the record high numbers of tomorrow? By expanding school choice we can also shift the ways public education is funded from strictly taxes to taxes as education savings accounts or flexible vouchers. Read more
