Pre-K Shown to Reduce Special Ed Placements

Duke University has released a study that suggests kids who go to prekindergarten are 32% less likely to end up in special education programs. This research gives more weight to the President’s recent call for universal preschool for 4 year olds. In the long run prekindergarten programs are less costly than special education programs down the road. The research shows that earlier education increases math and reading scores later on as well.
