In response to some parents refusing to allow their children to take standardized tests, Julia Steiny wrote an article highlighting how standardized test data has uncovered weak points in the education system, benefiting students. These tests revealed problems in the education system that are a disservice kids. Special-needs children and non-native English speakers segregation from other students causes shame and keeps them from achieving at their fullest capacity. What’s encouraging is that education reforms and policy makers are at work to reverse these disparities now that they are public can no longer be ignored. Read more here.
