Gender Achievement Gap

The gender gap in students performance has shifted. Girls are on average out performing boys in school, especially in reading. Girls are more likely to go on to college now as well. The occurrence is universal across rich countries and in a growing number of developing nations. Sweden is investing research into its “boy crisis”. Australia has launched a reading program targeted at boys. This article explores causality around this shift in achievement.
